Admission Procedure

The admissions to the Under Graduate program are as per the rules and regulations of the Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT), Orissa and Council of Architecture, New Delhi. The aspiring 10+2 students need to appear for JEE Main (Paper 2) and Diploma students need to clear NATA. The eligibility for the UG program is as per the norms of BPUT and COA. All the students taking admission into the Institute are registered with the BPUT.

Admissions to the 3 Year Executive M Arch program requires a valid score in PGAT Odisha or GATE. Interested candidates are advised to appear for the tests for eligibility to participate in the counseling process.



A candidate should have passed in an examination at the end of 10+2 scheme of examination with 50% marks in aggregate of the 10+2 level examination and also 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.5% relaxation in aggregate marks is permitted for SC and ST candidates as per COA norms. All (10+2) students are advised to appear for JEE Main Paper 2 and NATA  to be held in 2019 to ensure admission and COA registration requirements.

Diploma students need a valid NATA score and 50% marks in Diploma for admission. Admission for Diploma candidates will be in 1st year of the B Arch course as per COA norms. The candidate must have 10+3 Diploma Examination with Mathematics as compulsory subject, with atleast 50% marks in aggregate.


JEE Main Paper 2 :


The JEE (Main) 2019 will be conducted twice before admissions in the next academic session. The NTA will conduct the first JEE (Main) - January 2019 for admission to Undergraduate Programs in NITs, IIITs and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions etc between 6th January 2019 to 20th January 2019. A candidate may appear in Paper 1 and/or Paper 2 depending upon the course(s) he/she wishes to pursue.

Similarly, the second JEE (Main) April 2019 will be conducted between 6th April 2019 to 20th April 2019 or which a separate notice will be issued later on and the candidate will be required to apply separately.

However, candidates are not required to compulsorily appear in both tests i.e. JEE (Main) - January 2019 and JEE (Main) - April 2019. In case, a candidate appears in both the tests, the better of the two scores will be used for the admissions and eligibility for JEE (Advanced) - 2019.
